What's the difference between solar terms and lunar calendar?

Solar terms and lunar calendar are two different ways to calculate time.

Solar terms are a traditional way of time division in China, based on the solar cycle. A year is divided into 24 solar terms, and each solar term marks the change of climate and seasons, such as vernal equinox, summer solstice, autumn equinox and winter solstice. The exact date varies slightly from year to year. Usually March 5th, March 20th, April 4th, April 19, May 5th, May 2nd1,June 5th, June 2nd1,July 6th, July 22nd, August 7th, August 23rd and September in the solar calendar.

The lunar calendar is a time calculation method based on the cycle of the moon, which usually takes one month as a cycle to mark the changes of agricultural activities, festivals and traditional customs. According to the change of the moon phase, a month is divided into "the first day" and "the second day". A year * * * has 12 months, usually a lunar month is 29 or 30 days, and the length of a year is calculated based on 29.5 days.

Therefore, although the two time division methods have important cultural and historical significance, they focus on different contents and symbols.
