Wei Chai engine valve clearance size and adjustment method WP 12

Valve clearance: intake valve 0.40, exhaust valve 0.60.

Adjustment method:

1, rotate to make the piston of the first cylinder at the top dead center position.

2. Adjust the intake valves of cylinders 1, 2 and 4, loosen the lock nuts of the intake valves, loosen the adjusting bolts of the intake valves, and insert a 0.40mm feeler gauge between the valve bridge and the adjusting screws.

3. Turn the adjusting screw to adjust the clearance to (0.40±0.06)mm, and then tighten the lock nut with a constant torque wrench with a torque of (45 5) N.m. ..

4. Loosen the EVB bracket lock nut.

5. Turn the adjusting screw of the EVB bracket so that the adjusting screw presses the small piston until it is completely pressed (be careful not to open the valve).

6. Insert a 0.60mm feeler gauge between the exhaust valve adjusting screw and the middle plane of the valve bridge, adjust the exhaust valve clearance and locking screw, and adjust the exhaust valve clearance to (0.60 0.06) mm.. Tighten the adjusting nut with a torque of (45 5) N.m. ..

7. Finally, repeat the above steps and adjust the intake valve clearance of cylinders 3, 5 and 6 and the exhaust valve clearance of cylinders 2, 4 and 6 in turn.
