Brief introduction of the author

Liu Jiang, formerly known as Buddha's Word, distinguished right from wrong on the shore of the lake. Born in July 1926. People from Wanxian County, Sichuan Province. Children learn from their families and love painting and calligraphy. 1945 After graduating from normal school, he was admitted to the preparatory school of Chongqing University for Nationalities to study painting, 1949 joined the army, 1957 returned to the Chinese painting department of Zhejiang Fine Arts Institute, and studied calligraphy and seal cutting under President Pan Tianshou. 196 1 graduated and stayed in school to teach calligraphy, seal cutting and other courses. He used to be a professor of China Academy of Fine Arts, executive director of China Calligraphy Association, creative evaluation member, vice chairman of Zhejiang Calligraphy Association, vice chairman of China Calligraphy Education Research Association and vice chairman of Xiling Printing Society. He has published more than ten monographs, including Liu Jiang's Selected Seal Cutting, Seal Cutting Techniques, Seal Cutting and China's Art History, among which Seal Cutting Techniques and Beauty of Seal Cutting have been translated into Japanese and Korean.

Calligraphy studied under Yan Zhenqing, Liu Gongquan and Zhao Mengfu, and then went to Li Beihai and Han Li, Qin Zhuan. Later, he devoted himself to the study of seal script, starting from the inscriptions in Qin and Han Dynasties, catching up with the inscriptions and tortoise shells of Zhong Ding, involving Wu Changshuo and Deng. He is good at writing divination with Shi Guwen's brushwork. His brushwork is vigorous and vigorous, and his composition is changeable. Zhu Lesan and Fa Wu Changshuo, seal engravers, pursue the charm of ancient seal engraving, seek agility in silence and elegance in simplicity.
