On low-altitude cloud discharge

Lightning is a discharge phenomenon, but it is not limited to clouds.

Because of the different heights, the wind speed and direction are not exactly the same, and the water droplets and ice crystals between clouds rub against each other to generate static electricity. Voltage accumulation can reach tens of thousands to millions of volts, leading to air ionization discharge.

The point of the cloud leads to the induction of electricity on the ground, and people in the wilderness are equivalent to sharp protrusions on the surface of smooth conductors. Because the earth conducts electricity, it must be an equipotential body objectively, which makes the human body charged a lot and easier to ionize.
