What does the P2 106 fault code mean?

Pacific Auto Network is a throttle fault code. The throttle may be blocked or the throttle position sensor is faulty. It is recommended to clean it in time to eliminate the fault.

In the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) system, the function of the accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor is to transmit the position of the accelerator pedal to the throttle control module in the form of an electrical signal, which serves as a reference for the throttle actuator to control the throttle opening. The throttle actuator is a stepping motor, which is responsible for controlling the throttle opening according to the instruction of the throttle control module. When operating in FMEM mode, this fault code will appear if the electronic control module detects that the throttle actuator control motor (TACM) system is in forced power limiting mode. Causes of failure include failure of TACM circuit or connector, failure of electronic control module (PCM or ECM), etc.

P2 106 fault code is applicable to all automobile manufacturers, which means that the throttle actuator control system (engine) is forced to limit power. After the electronic throttle fault code appears, it cannot be ruled out. Do not blindly replace the electronic throttle body. Even if the electronic throttle body is replaced, if the fault is not eliminated, the fault light will light up again. It is necessary to carefully check the relevant wiring harness and clean the throttle body according to the prompt of the fault code before solving it. The probability of real equipment damage is very low.
