Simple steps of making moon cakes with colored mud

When it comes to the legend of Mid-Autumn Festival, people will think of the Goddess Chang'e flying to the moon, WU GANG, Fagui and Yutu. Today, we are going to make creative clay sculptures for the Mid-Autumn Festival-lifelike jade rabbits and moon cakes. Moon cakes are an indispensable element of Mid-Autumn Festival, and the lovely jade rabbit gives people endless imagination.

First, make moon cakes. Make a round cake with brown (brown+orange adjustable) clay. Then cut the brown clay into slender strips and wrap it around the round cake.

Press out the patterns around the moon cakes with clay tools, and then knead the brown clay into thin strips to make the characters and patterns on the moon cakes, as shown in the above picture.

Apply red toner to the surface of the moon cake, and finally apply a layer of bright oil, so that the moon cake is ready.

Start to make a jade rabbit, pinch the rabbit's head with beige (white+yellow adjustable) clay, and then draw eyes, nose and mouth.

The rabbit's long ears are made of beige clay, and the ear sockets are painted with orange toner.

The gray clay is kneaded into a ball to make the body of the jade rabbit, which is glued to the head, the small tail and the moon cake.

Gray clay is made into the limbs of the jade rabbit, and then the bitten moon cake is made into the hands of the jade rabbit.

Make some small disks with yellow mud and sprinkle them on the heads of moon cakes and jade rabbits for decoration. This is osmanthus fragrans. Finally, apply a layer of bright oil, so that the jade rabbit who eats moon cakes is finished!
