Hashimoto's nodular asthma

Thyroid cancer is one of the rapidly growing cancers in recent years. Patients with thyroid autoimmune diseases, especially Hashimoto's disease, are actually one of the prone groups of thyroid cancer, in addition to factors such as excessive radiation in the neck, excessive or insufficient iodine, stress of life and pollution. Therefore, such patients should always pay attention to their thyroid status in daily life to avoid worsening into thyroid cancer.

Hashimoto's disease Hashimoto's disease is an autoimmune disease, also known as Hashimoto's disease, Hashimoto's thyroiditis and chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis. The cause of the disease is unknown, but it may be related to family history, or induced by pollution, stress and other external environment, usually accompanied by other autoimmune diseases, such as lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.

It often happens in women around the age of 30. Because the body's immune system will be unbalanced, thyroid antibodies will be produced, and immune cells will attack the thyroid gland, leading to hypothyroidism. But in the initial stage, the symptoms are not obvious, and it is a chronic disease, and the symptoms are not special, so it is often impossible to find out the cause.

Symptoms of hypothyroidism

Skin and hair become dry and rough. The body is swollen and fat. Constipation. Sweating inexplicably and feeling weak all over. Cold hands and feet. Can't get up in the morning. The menstrual cycle changes, which may become frequent or not come for a long time. Become more and more tired. Stiff body. Lower limb weakness. Inexplicable depression and melancholy. In the process of being attacked, because the thyroid function becomes low, in order to maintain its normal function, it will become compensatory, but it belongs to a relatively average bilateral increase; However, if the thyroid tissue continues to be attacked and has a defensive effect, the cells will proliferate and produce local swollen nodules, which may be produced in one or more parts.

The probability of thyroid nodules is about 5 ~ 10%, and the probability of benign nodules becoming cancerous is very small, but it cannot be denied that they are indeed a risk factor, because nodules are also produced by autoimmune, stress, environment and other factors, and most of them disappear on their own. If they have been in an environment prone to nodules, they are actually exposing themselves to an environment prone to cancer.

Hashimoto's disease and thyroid cancer At present, it can be known that Hashimoto's disease is a risk factor for thyroid cancer, because the thyroid is in an inflammatory state for a long time, which is easy to cause cytopathic changes and is most likely to become thyroid cancer of thyroid lymphoma. In related research in Japan, people with Hashimoto's disease are much more likely to have thyroid lymphoma than those without Hashimoto's disease, and about 60% of patients with thyroid lymphoma have Hashimoto's disease.

However, according to the Taiwan Province Provincial Health Insurance Database, such a high proportion has not been found, but it may also be a symptom of Hashimoto's disease, which is too similar to the symptoms of thyroid lymphoma. It is difficult to completely distinguish the two without pathological section.

Therefore, for patients with Hashimoto's disease, even if they take thyroxine drugs, they don't feel too many symptoms in their lives. It is recommended to follow up the thyroid condition regularly, and new nodules may grow unconsciously. If it is possible to become malignant, surgical resection is also recommended. At present, there is a new type of oral endoscopic thyroidectomy, which can completely leave no scars and do not have to worry about the beauty of the neck.
