How to operate argon arc welding

Argon arc welding is a common metal welding method. The following are the general operation steps of argon arc welding:

1. Preparation: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as welding mask, gloves and protective clothing. Ensure that there are no flammable items or flammable gases around the welding area.

2. Prepare equipment: connect the argon bottle to the welding machine and ensure that the gas flow regulator is adjusted correctly. Check whether the power supply and grounding wire of the welding machine are well connected.

3. Prepare welding materials: clean the surface of the metal to be welded and remove grease, rust and impurities. Ensure that the gap and preparation of weld meet the welding requirements.

4. Setting welding current: according to the type and thickness of welding materials, choose the appropriate welding current. Adjust the current according to the settings of the welding machine.

5. Start welding: put on the welding mask, the electrode of the welding gun contacts the workpiece, and press the current switch of the welding machine. Keep a certain welding gun angle and distance, so that the arc can be formed stably.

6. Welding: Move the welding gun slowly along the weld while maintaining an appropriate arc length. Covered electrode or welding wire will melt and fill the weld to form a welded joint.

7. Control the welding speed: Control the welding speed according to the melting situation in the welding process and the requirements of the weld. Too fast speed may lead to insufficient melting, and too slow speed may lead to overheating and deformation.

8. Finish welding: After welding, release the current switch to extinguish the arc. After waiting for the welding area to cool down, carry out necessary cleaning and finishing.
