BOSCH-M(E)7 series engine management system is an engine management system which uses electronic throttle to centrally control ignition and fuel injection. The air intake of the engine is not directly controlled by the accelerator pedal, but accurately determined by the engine control unit ECU after collecting and analyzing many signals and controlling the throttle opening. The biggest difference from the early Ml and M3 systems is that the control strategy of ME7 system is based on torque control.

BOSCH-M(E)7 series engine management system not only has the functions of ignition and fuel injection, but also has the functions of starting, preheating and idling control, vapor recovery of fuel tank, regenerative oxygen sensor, monitoring of the second generation on-board diagnostic system, exhaust gas recirculation valve control, air injection pump control, variable valve timing and so on. It also has interfaces with ABS, automobile dynamic control and other facilities. ME7 calculates the required fuel quantity within 8ms and the ignition timing within 0.03ms according to the accelerator pedal position, engine speed, water temperature and other factors, and commands the corresponding actuators to execute through the output drive circuit. The system processor can complete 654.38+00 million instructions per second.
