Spring has six solar terms:

On the vernal equinox, the sun shines directly at the equator of the earth, and the seasons in the northern and southern hemispheres are opposite. In southern China, poplars fall, willows fall, cuckoos cry at night, peonies bloom and cherries are red. The natural scenery tells people that it is late spring.
