The customs of Mengzhou

Mengzhou city is a transitional area from the piedmont of Taihang Mountain to the North China Plain. The terrain inclines from northwest to southeast, and the altitude drops from 305.9 meters to 108.5 meters. The territory has obvious transition characteristics from west to east, which is the western edge of North China Plain.

Urban soil consists of cinnamon soil and tidal soil. There are 8 soil species under cinnamon soil, such as loess, loessial soil and red soil, which are distributed in western hilly areas. The fluvo-aquic soil is divided into six soil types, such as mixed soil and sandy soil, which are distributed in the eastern plain and the Yellow River beach area. It belongs to the continental monsoon climate of warm temperate zone, with four distinct seasons, and the annual average temperature is 65438 04.2℃. There are many dry sandstorms in spring, frequent hot storms in summer, long sunny days in autumn and less cold rain and snow in winter. Mineral resources are scarce, only water stone, limestone, bluestone, oil shale, river sand, clay and a small amount of bituminous coal, while river sand and clay are particularly pure, which are the best resources for building materials in surrounding counties and cities.

There are four rivers in this city, namely Yellow River, Mang River, Mang River, Zhulong River and Python Canal for water diversion. The average surface runoff for many years is 0.7 1.2 billion cubic meters, accounting for 37.5% of the total water resources in the city. Among them, the Yellow River flows southward from the urban area, with a total length of 26 kilometers, which is the intersection of the middle and lower reaches. The water surface of the Yellow River is slack, and a large amount of sediment accumulates, which begins to become a "suspended river". The Yellow River embankment (left bank) was built from King Cao Temple in the east of Meng Jing. Since ancient times, there has been a saying that "the Yellow River levee began in Meng County". In the 1990s, due to the construction of Xiaolangdi Reservoir, the water potential of the Yellow River was effectively controlled, and the "harmful river" became a "beneficial river". After 1995, all the immigrants from Xin 'an were settled in the Yellow River beach area, and their lives were stable.

The wild animals in the city mainly include rabbits, hedgehogs, foxes, weasels and squirrels. More than 0/60 kinds of wild plants/kloc-,such as wild field, Lycium barbarum peel, Cirsium japonicum, Artemisia capillaris, Artemisia argyi, Petunia, Setaria viridis, Bermuda grass, dandelion, Salsola salsa, Bupleurum chinense, jujube and so on.
