What are the characteristics of Tomb-Sweeping Day?
Qingming is the fifth of the 24 solar terms. On April 4th or 5th every year, the sun starts at longitude 15 and ends at April 20th (or 2 1). Qingming means the Qing Dynasty. The book of the lunar calendar says: "Fighting refers to Qingming, everything is clean and bright, and when it is covered, it is clear and beautiful, and everything is neat, hence the name".
Qingming means that the sky is clear and the earth is bright. In ancient China, Tomb-Sweeping Day was divided into three stages: the first stage was that tung trees began to blossom, the second stage was that voles became mice, and the third stage was that rainbows began to appear.
That is to say, at this time, the tung tree blooms first, then the shaded voles disappear and all return to the underground caves, and finally a rainbow can appear in the sky after the rain. As soon as Qingming arrives, the temperature rises and the rainfall increases. At this time, except for the northeast and northwest regions, the daily average temperature in most parts of China has risen above 12℃, and all parts are busy with spring ploughing.
