There are many pretreatment methods for aluminum substrates, such as degreasing, sandblasting, wire drawing, polishing, oxygen grease and so on.

1, degreasing: in order to make the surface of aluminum substrate have a certain ink affinity, it is necessary to remove the oil layer and oil stain on the surface, and cotton yarn can be dipped in gasoline to wipe it. Chemical degreasing can also be carried out with alkaline solution, such as sodium sulfate 30-50g/L, sodium phosphate 40-60g/L, sodium silicate 10- 15g/L, soaking at 60-70 degrees for 2-5 minutes to remove oil.

2. Sandblasting: Sandblasting is to improve the adhesion between ink and metal materials. Usually, a special sandblasting machine is used for sandblasting. If the thickness of aluminum plate is 0.5- 1mm, the diameter of sand for sandblasting is 0.05-0. 15mm, or river sand is used after screening.

3. Wire drawing: also known as twisting processing, it is to process delicate straight lines on the surface of aluminum plate through mechanical friction. It is a relatively new surface decoration treatment process, which can overcome the defects such as scratches on the aluminum surface. Improve the material utilization rate. There are two kinds of wire drawing: thick wire and thin wire. Generally, stainless steel wire brush or scouring pad with a diameter of 0. 1 mm can be used, and nylon abrasive belt can also be used for processing.

4. Polishing: It is to overcome the surface defects of aluminum-based materials and improve the surface smoothness. Polishing is divided into mechanical polishing and chemical polishing. Mechanical polishing adopts cloth wheel polishing machine, and chemical polishing is mostly carried out in acidic solution, such as sulfuric acid 15%, nitric acid 10%, temperature 90- 100, and time 2-3 minutes.

5. Oxidation: There is residual polishing soap on the polished surface of aluminum plate, which should be wiped off with gauze dipped in gasoline, then chemically degreased, then immersed in nitric acid solution (the ratio of nitric acid to water is 1: 1), taken out after 10 minutes, and put into an oxidation tank for electrochemical oxidation. Formulation of oxidation solution: nitric acid 160-200g/ml, temperature 10-20 degrees, time 30 minutes.

The oxidized aluminum plate is fully washed with water and dried to form an oxide layer with uniform pores on the surface, that is, an oxide film, and dirt pollution should be avoided. It is best to print the alumina board immediately. If it can't be printed immediately, it should be wrapped with soft paper spacer or put directly on the air drying rack, and the storage time should not exceed one week.

The oxide layer on the surface of aluminum plate can absorb dyes, moisture and other salts, and it is not necessary to touch the surface with hands or oily objects when silk printing. When the ink is printed on the oxide layer, the ink penetrates into the pores. The heating of the next working procedure is to accelerate the penetration of ink into the pores until all the surface pores covered by ink are filled.
