Winter solstice proverbs freeze your ears.
The winter proverb "freeze your ears" comes from a folklore. According to legend, Zhang Zhongjing, a medical sage in the Eastern Han Dynasty, resigned and went home on the solstice of winter. He saw that the villagers on both sides of the Baihe River were hungry and cold, and many people suffered from frostbite. So he told his disciples to set up a shed, made an ear-shaped "cold-dispelling soup" with cold-dispelling herbs and mutton and distributed it to the people.
After people eat Joule, their ears are no longer frostbitten. Later, in memory of Zhang Zhongjing, people will eat jiaozi on the solstice in winter, and some places will put some coins and sweets in the jiaozi to symbolize good luck and wealth. With the passage of time, the phrase "On the solstice of winter, you run amok in jiaozi's bowl and nobody cares about your frozen ears" has also spread.
Meteorological change
From winter to the future, although the solar altitude angle gradually increases, it is a slow recovery process, and the heat lost every day is still greater than the heat received, showing a situation of "making ends meet". On the day of "March 9 and April 9", the accumulated heat is the least, the temperature is the lowest, and the weather is getting colder and colder. China has a vast territory, and the climate and landforms vary greatly from place to place.
Although the days from winter solstice are short, the temperature from winter solstice is not the lowest; It won't be very cold before the winter solstice, because there is still "accumulated heat" on the surface, and the real cold winter is after the winter solstice. Due to the disparity of climate in different parts of China, this astronomical climate feature is obviously late for most parts of China.
