1, March to June. Rice is an annual gramineous plant with long and flat leaves and a wide planting area. The plain in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River is an important rice planting area in southern China. Due to the climate difference, the sowing date of rice in the south is different from that in the north. Generally speaking, March-June is the concentrated sowing period of rice in South China.

2. Early rice. Rice in southern China is usually sown in late March or early April, transplanted in May and harvested in June. Early rice can be sown in rice fields after the temperature is higher than 10 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days. Warm weather contributes to the rapid growth of early rice and avoids large-scale death when encountering cold air in the later stage.

3. Middle rice. Mid-season rice can be sown around Tomb-Sweeping Day in early May, and early rice belongs to mid-season rice, which is between early season type and late season type. Mid-season rice requires temperature and precipitation during its growth. If high temperature weather is encountered during the growth process, the growth period will be shortened, and it can generally be harvested in early autumn.
