What traditional Chinese medicine is Gouchen? Is it realgar or Uncaria? Or something else? Teacher Ni often uses Chinese medicine blindly, thank you!
Many newborn babies cry at night (commonly known as "one hundred days off"-it takes a hundred days to cry). Because the night is cloudy, the stomach hurts when the yin is full, and the navel protrudes when crying, all of which are caused by too short navel cutting or improper handling of the navel. Babies crying at night can be cured quickly by using cicada slough powder (Hook Sink, Cicada, Tetrapanacis Tetrapanacis, Saposhnikovia divaricata, Bombyx Batryticatus, Schizonepeta or Scorpio, Zhi Zi), expelling wind powder or sticking navel to stop crying at night, and young parents can sleep peacefully. Excerpted from Key to Traditional Chinese Medicine by Peng Yijun of Taiwan Province Province (namely Key to Traditional Chinese Medicine-Uncovering the Mysteries of Traditional Chinese Medicine) Note: The word "Gouchen" in this article is not realgar, but refers to Uncaria rhynchophylla, an evergreen vine of Rubiaceae, which was changed to "Gouchen" in Wenzhou dialect.
