What is the reason for the existence of the French megalithic forest?

Outside the Kanak village in Brittany, northern France, nearly 3,000 stone pillars stand on several parallel straight lines. These stone pillars belong to prehistoric relics, ranging in height from 5.4 meters to 6 meters. The uneven level is a miracle.

This stone forest appeared around 4000 BC and stretched for nearly 4.8 kilometers in the countryside, which is very spectacular. One of them is called Stonehenge, which was originally 18 meters high and weighed 340 tons, but now it has split into four pieces.

Why these stone pillars stand in Kanak village is impossible to verify. Due to the lack of graphic materials, it is impossible to know the exact meaning of Shilin. Archaeologists found some prehistoric tombs made of stone nearby, so they guessed that these stone pillars were erected in memory of the dead. In Brittany, "Karnak Temple" just means "Bone Cemetery".

The stone pillars are arranged along the east-west direction, and their positions are obviously consistent with the sunrise directions of the four solar terms: winter solstice, summer solstice, vernal equinox and autumn equinox. Therefore, many archaeologists speculate that people who arrange stone pillars worship the sun.

Some people speculate that Shilin is a platform built by astrologers to observe the celestial phenomena and predict the eclipse time. It may also be a symbol of fertility, because people at that time were obsessed with getting a bumper harvest and healthy children. It is said that in the19th century, couples of childbearing age who are still weak under their knees will go to Kanak Village to dance naked and pray for their children.

Today, archaeologists are still studying, hoping to uncover the secrets of these stone pillars one day.
