Reading Notes on Huangdi Neijing II

The "four qi" in Huangdi Neijing does not refer to the four seasons, but refers to cold, hot, warm and cool.

In addition, the four gas fields also refer to the influence of weather on our living environment, which is divided into four stages with obvious characteristics: warm, hot, cool and cold, namely spring, summer, autumn and winter. These stages are cyclical.

The ancients discovered a long time ago that there was an obvious small change every five days. They call it "waiting".

Generally, it is a cycle of five days, from the first day to the fifteenth day, five days and five days.

So what do people often mean by "climate"?

According to the waiting time of five days, three hundred and sixty-five divided by five, there are seventy-three days in a year.

But the ancients made a simple calculation, according to the seventy-second period. Then they called the remarkable changes in these three periods, that is, fifteen days "one breath".

So "climate" actually separates the two meanings of "qi" and "climate". "Climate" refers to the five-day change and "Qi" refers to the fifteen-day change, so the standard name of the twenty-four solar terms should be twenty-four Qi.

A section takes qi as the unit, and three qi is 45 days, which is called a section and is a unit of time.

We should remember that the 24 solar terms are the solar calendar, and the days are basically fixed and change with the sun.

When we say "out of breath" at ordinary times, we don't mean that he is dead, but that he missed the time of "flowering" or "sowing" and delayed the "farming season".

Therefore, ancient people are actually the closest to nature, and it is clear when and what to do.

Because once you miss this opportunity, no matter how much time you spend, sweat and fertilize, no matter how hard you try, there is no result.

In a word, if we adjust our life according to the solar terms, we can live safely and comfortably.
