Background of song creation

This song is the first song written by Bao Meisheng's village friend Hou Dejian. Hou Dejian didn't receive any orthodox music education, so he wrote this song easily in a muddle. The first version of the calf's brother was originally the kitten's brother, but the Taiwan authorities failed to pass the trial, so they changed it to the calf's brother casually and passed it in a daze. This song is full of childlike interest, and it is one of the few works with local folk songs in Hou Dejian.

At a concert, Hou Dejian and Bao Meisheng sang this song "Catch Misgurnus" one after another. It tastes very different. One is really like a big brother, and the other is a little sister who begged his big brother to catch loach. Later, when Bao Meisheng recorded "Catch the Loach", he couldn't help crying. It's not because she was moved by this song, but because it's so like a nursery rhyme that she felt embarrassed.
