Look at the new car ahead of time: Honda PCX 160' s competitiveness soared after the real change.

Honda PCX is one of the best-selling scooters with small displacement in the world, but it was spat to pieces for various reasons after coming to China. Whether it is the stem of two valves or the diameter change, it has cast a layer of dust on this "magic car". Some time ago, Honda released a modified model of PCX in Japan, and the double valve stems finally faded out of history.

There are three new PCX models, namely PCX 125 and PCX? E: HEV and PCX 160, in which PCX 160 replaced the previous 150 model.

The appearance basically maintains the appearance of the old PCX, with high recognition. But when you sit in the seat, you will notice that the foot space is enlarged, the floor steps are enlarged by 30mm to the front and outside of the vehicle, the foot space is more abundant, and the riding posture is more relaxed.

The headlights and taillights of the new PCX have changed slightly, but the overall changes are not big, as shown in the following figure, which are basically the same.

The layout of the dashboard has changed obviously. Compared with the old instrument (below), the display area of the new instrument is larger, the chrome-plated decoration interspersed in the instrument panel is cancelled, and the low battery warning light is added.

The new eSP? +engine, the displacement is increased from 149cc to 156cc, which improves the horsepower and torque. Because of the four-valve mechanism, the engine has better performance in all speed ranges. Due to the change of engine cylinder stroke, the acceleration sense in the middle speed range will become sharper, and it can reach 8500 rpm smoothly and powerfully, with the maximum output of 15.8ps.

With the increase of exhaust volume, the diameter of the throttle body is also increased from 26 mm to 28 mm, and a new rectifier plate is adopted, so the path from the air cleaner to the intake pipe is expanded, which can improve the intake efficiency.

In the body part, the frame is redesigned to make the whole vehicle lighter and adjust the rigid balance to the most suitable state. The whole structure becomes simpler, the stroke of the rear shock absorber is increased by 10 mm, the rigidity of the car body is also improved, and the driving in the high-speed range becomes more stable. While maintaining the rigid balance, the new frame itself achieved a weight reduction of 760g, and the shape and wall thickness of the rear armrest were also optimized, with a weight reduction of 310 g.

In terms of braking, front and rear disc brakes are adopted, and a single-channel ABS system (instead of the original rear drum brake and CBS system) is equipped, and a new optional torque control system (HSTC) is added, which effectively enhances the braking force and safety.

The tire has widened from 100? /? 80- 14 and 120? /? Specification 70- 14, changed to 1 10? /? 70- 14 and 130? /? The specification is 70- 13.

The bucket capacity under the seat is increased from 28L to 30L, which improves the loading capacity. The glove box on the left side of the front also increases the storage space. New USB? C-type sockets become standard.

PCX 160 with SMART? The key keyless start system can turn on and off the ignition switch, lock/unlock the handle lock, and unlock the seat and fuel filler cap.

Although the frame and engine of the new PCX 160 have been redesigned and equipped with traction control system, the price is not much expensive. If Honda PCX 160 can enter China next year to replace the existing PCX 150, it will put some pressure on current competitors.
