Twenty-four solar terms: when is the sting and Qingming?
Jingzhe, called "Qi Zhe" in ancient times, is the third of the 24 solar terms. Animals hide in the soil in winter and don't drink or eat, which is called "sting". At this time, the weather is getting warmer, and there is gradually spring thunder, and "thunder" is the day when God wakes up dormant animals with thunder. At this time, most parts of China have entered the spring ploughing season.
One of the twenty-four solar terms of the Qingming lunar calendar, around April 5 every year. Tomb-Sweeping Day has been an important traditional folk festival in China since ancient times. The festival cycle is very long, and nearly 20 days belong to Tomb-Sweeping Day. Tomb-Sweeping Day, New Year's Eve, Magnolia and Chongyang are also the four major festivals for ancestor worship in traditional festivals in China.
