What do you think if the building can talk: the Temple of Heaven built of golden nanmu?

Among many ancient buildings, one is very special. It is a symbol of imperial power and a concentrated expression of China's ancient world view. This is the Temple of Heaven. The Temple of Heaven is located on the east side of the central axis in southern Beijing, covering an area of 2.73 million square meters, nearly four times that of the Forbidden City.

Among these few buildings, the most familiar one is the Hall for Praying for the New Year, which is located in the center of the complex. This circular hall stands out among many ancient buildings in China.

The wooden beads in the Hall of Prayer for the New Year are arranged in three circles from the inside out. The height of the four diamond pillars in the innermost circle is nearly 20m, and the 12 pillars outside the innermost circle are called golden pillars. The outermost circle of 12 wooden columns is called cornice columns. These columns are distributed in multiples of 4, representing the four seasons, December and twenty-four solar terms respectively. In addition to the symbolic function of the above figures, the main function of the column is to support the total weight of the hall.

In order to prevent the wooden columns from being staggered, there are connections between the wooden columns, which is different from the general wooden structure building. The forehead of the Hall of Prayer for the New Year needs artificial bending, and the forehead on the top floor has the greatest bending degree, which requires superb technology.

Between the top side and the square, there are also eight pillars connected. On the one hand, the sub-columns are arranged to better bear the weight from the upper eaves. On the other hand, although there are only four columns in the inner ring, there are 12 columns on each floor from the outside.

Above the columns of each floor, it is a unique part of ancient architecture in China. The bucket arch is located on the stigma and the square, which is level with the stigma. Seen from a distance, the structure of this building is extremely accurate. There are four kinds of prayer halls and more than 200 kinds of bucket arches, which are huge. It not only plays the role of structural cohesion, but also has a certain decorative role, with obvious grade differences.

Above the bucket arch is the roof part of the main hall, which is laid on the purlin above the bucket arch by rafters and kanban. Finally, the glazed tile was covered on the watch board, and the whole hall was completed.

Inside the complex wood structure, there are beautiful ceilings and algae wells, and the final gathering of the algae well is on the Leigong column in the center. The top of the Lei Gong column is the treasure top of the whole hall. Seen from the bottom, the golden dome is like the most dazzling one among the stars, dazzling!

The ancients deduced the theory of five movements and six qi through yin and yang and five elements to measure the energy change relationship between heaven and earth and the world. This is the weather, and the weather goes on and on. So the ancients called the sky a circle to describe the characteristics of time. At the same time, the ancients used "all directions" to describe the direction, also called "places". This is the simple understanding of the universe and the exploration of the ancients.
