What is the function of the throttle?

The throttle is actually controlled by the accelerator pedal, which can adjust the air intake. Now it is generally divided into two types, one is mechanical, and stepping on the accelerator pedal can control the opening and closing of the accelerator through a steel cable, but this structure is gradually being eliminated. Now the latest electronic throttle is controlled by electronic sensor instead of traditional cable connection, which has higher control accuracy and improved throttle lag. The function of throttle is to control the air entering the engine. It is a controllable valve and determines the running condition of the engine. The driver controls the throttle opening by operating the accelerator pedal. Whether it is a carburetor car or an EFI car, the function of the throttle is the same. After air enters through the throttle, it is mixed with gasoline to form an oil-gas mixture. Although the transmission ratio of the commonly used traditional throttle valve is 1: 1, this method is extensive and uneven, which will affect emissions. The traditional throttle adopts a rigid connection, that is, the mechanical connection between the accelerator pedal and the throttle is driven by a pull rod or a cable. Although the throttle opening depends entirely on the position of the accelerator pedal, the engine is not always in the best running state. Therefore, a flexible connection mode is adopted. The flexible connection mode cancels the traditional mechanical connection, and the electronic control unit controls the fast and accurate positioning of the throttle, changing the traditional throttle into an electronic throttle. Its advantage is that the best throttle opening can be determined according to the needs and wishes of the driver and various driving conditions of the whole vehicle, thus ensuring the best power performance and fuel economy of the vehicle. It also has traction control, cruise control and other control functions, which improves the safety and ride comfort. The electronic throttle consists of an acceleration sensor, an actuator motor and two throttle position sensors. When the driver needs to step on the accelerator, the ECU computer will send an instruction to the driving motor after analysis and judgment, and the driving motor will control the throttle opening to adjust the flow of combustible mixture, and adjust the throttle to the optimal position, so that it can reach the theoretical air-fuel ratio close to 14.7: 1 under different loads and working conditions, so that the fuel can be fully burned. This way can realize the automatic control function of vehicle power output.
