Where is the Tang Dynasty Palace in Xi 'an?

Daming Palace is the main palace, the political center and national symbol of the Tang Dynasty. It is located in Longshouyuan, north of Chang 'an (now Xi 'an) in Tang Dou.

It was built in the eighth year of Emperor Taizong's Zhenguan (634), formerly known as Yong 'an Palace. It is the largest of the three main halls of Chang 'an in Tang Dynasty (Daming Palace, Taiji Palace and Xingqing Palace), and is called "Dongnei".

For more than 200 years since Tang Gaozong, there have been 17 emperors of the Tang Dynasty handling state affairs here.

In the third year of Ganning in Tang Zhaozong (896), Daming Palace was destroyed by the war in the late Tang Dynasty.

Daming Palace was built in the eighth year of Zhenguan of Emperor Taizong (634), formerly known as Yong 'an Palace. This is the Summer Palace built by Emperor Taizong and Li Shimin for Emperor Taizong's summer vacation. The project was not completed, and Li Yuan died in the ninth year of Zhenguan (635), so the construction project was stopped.

After Tang Gaozong succeeded to the throne, he thought the Taiji Palace where he lived was too humid. In the second year of Longshuo (662), Daming Palace was expanded on a large scale, renamed Penglai Palace, and then moved in. After that, most of the emperors of the Tang Dynasty lived here, which was the ruling center of the Tang Dynasty empire for more than 200 years.

In the first year of Xianheng (670), it was renamed Hanyuan Palace.

In the first year of Shenlong (705), it was renamed Daming Palace.

In December of the first year of Guangming (880), Huang Chao led the peasant army into Chang 'an, boarded the Daming Palace and held the enthronement ceremony, and then announced the title of "Daqi" at the Danfengmen Gate Tower.

In the first year of Guanghua in Tang Zhaozong (898), it resumed again.

In the first year of God bless in Tang Aidi (904), Daming Palace was finally destroyed and became a ruin.
