What is the function of the air valve?
Air valve is a special valve, which is used to prevent the negative pressure of pipeline caused by decompression wave in transient process. It is usually installed at a high point where the hydrodynamic pressure is low during normal operation of the pipeline, and liquid column separation may occur during transient flow. When the pressure in the pipeline is lower than atmospheric pressure, air is sucked in, and when the pressure in the pipeline rises above atmospheric pressure, air is discharged. In the process of exhaust, when the liquid in the pipe fills the pipeline, the valve can be automatically closed, and the liquid is not allowed to leak into the atmosphere.
Air valve is the respirator of pipeline and the guarantor of pipeline safety. It is also called ventilation valve and exhaust valve, but it has suction function, so it is more accurate to call air valve.
