Spring Festival photography strategy: how to shoot gorgeous fireworks

SLR camera, tripod:

1. Wide-angle zoom lens. In most cases, we don't light the fireworks ourselves, so we don't know the exact location of the fireworks. We don't know where the fireworks will explode, and we don't know the linear distance between the fireworks and our shooting location, so we suggest you use a wide-angle zoom lens. On the one hand, the wide-angle lens can accommodate more pictures, on the other hand, the zoom lens can adjust the focal length at any time, which is convenient for us to compose pictures. Of course, another advantage of shooting with wide-angle lens is that if the position of fireworks in the picture is not ideal, we can make up for it through post-editing.

2. tripod. Tripod is actually the core accessory in the whole fireworks shooting process. Because shooting fireworks is always at night and the exposure time is long, the stability of the camera is needed. Using a tripod can not only adjust the shooting angle, height and direction at any time, but also fully ensure the stability of the camera. In addition, after fixing the camera on the tripod, we can also set the camera's timed self-timer mode (such as 2-second self-timer), which can effectively reduce the camera's jitter.

3. Cable release. If our exposure time exceeds the preset 30 seconds in the camera, we need to use the B-door shooting method. In order to reduce the vibration of the camera when shooting, we don't press the shutter when shooting door B, and it will be better to release the cable instead. Of course, playing by cable is not a necessary shooting equipment, because most people rarely shoot with door B. But it will be better to shoot fireworks with door B. I hope everyone can give it a try.

■ Several points for attention when setting off fireworks.

1. Ensure sufficient battery power and memory card space. This is a cliche, but there are still many people who never check their equipment before going out to take pictures. When I arrived at the shooting location, I found that the camera was either broken or the memory card was full, and then I began to complain crazily about why I didn't check it before going out. In fact, it is too simple to check the camera power and memory card space. As long as you enter the camera menu, there are corresponding options to tell you the specific value of the remaining space.

2. Choose the shooting location in advance. If you want to take good-looking fireworks photos, it must be very important to choose a suitable location. Generally speaking, shooting fireworks is mainly divided into big scenes and close-ups. Close-ups can be taken anywhere, and the requirements for location are very low. If you are shooting a big scene, you need to find a higher place to shoot, such as the roof, hillside, bridge and so on. These places can not only shoot the big scene of fireworks, but also match the surrounding buildings as a reference to set off the size and glory of fireworks.

3. Pay attention to the weather. The best weather condition for setting off fireworks is windy. Of course, the wind can't be too strong, it will blow into the shape of fireworks. When there is no wind, the smoke produced by fireworks will stay in the air and cannot be dispersed quickly, which has a great influence on the subsequent fireworks shooting. In addition, try not to shoot fireworks against the wind and with the wind. When the wind is against, the smoke of fireworks will float in front of you, which will affect the shooting. When the wind is downwind, smoke will become the background behind the fireworks, which will affect the effect of the fireworks. The high humidity and visibility of the air are also necessary weather conditions for shooting fireworks.
