Langya platform

Refers to the Langya platform built on Langya Mountain during the Qin Shihuang period.

In 2008, astronomical experts from Chinese Academy of Sciences confirmed that Langya Terrace was an ancient observatory, and "Langya Terrace Time" was the most accurate time in Beijing.

From the satellite map, Langya Terrace is located at the longitude line 120 degrees, forming a right triangle with Lingshan Island and Zhaitang Island in the sea. According to the observation data for many years, standing on Langya platform, Lingshan Island is the direction of sunrise and Zhaitang Island is the direction of sunset. In different seasons and solar terms, the sunrise and sunset points are the same. In this way, the ancients can completely judge the arrival of different solar terms.

There is a record about Langyatai in Historical Records of Qin Shihuang: In the twenty-fifth year of King Yue (472 BC), he moved his capital to Langyatai and set up a platform overlooking the East China Sea. In the authoritative astronomical work "History of Chinese Astronomy" in China, there are "ancient observatories, which were called Qing Taiwan in Xia Dynasty, Shentai in Shang Dynasty, Lingtai in Zhou Dynasty, and Guantai in princes."

It is obviously another name for the Observatory to call Langya Terrace "Observatory" in historical records. In history, nine feudal emperors, including Qin Shihuang and Han Wudi, visited Langya Taiwan many times. It is absolutely unreasonable to play just for the purpose. Various indications show that Langya Terrace was never built at will, and its construction has certain scientific basis. This is an ancient observatory.
