When does spring begin?

There are different opinions in ancient and modern times

One way of saying this is to start with "beginning of spring". The reason is that "beginning of spring" is the first of the 24 solar terms. Beginning of spring usually falls from February 4th to 5th on the Gregorian calendar, just within ten days before and after the Spring Festival. However, just taking "beginning of spring" as beginning of spring is not in line with the actual weather conditions.

The second is the traditional saying. The spring of China lunar calendar is correction month, February and March. The first month is called "early spring", February is called "Meng Chun" and March is called "mid-spring". This statement is more realistic.

The third statement is the regulation of modern meteorology: the first day when the daily average temperature is stable above 10℃ for five consecutive days is divided into spring. In meteorology, when the average temperature of the day is higher than 10℃ and lower than 22℃ for five consecutive days, it is considered as spring.

The first day of these five days is spring. In the northeast, the time to enter spring every year is basically around the beginning of April.

China has a vast territory, and it is more scientific to determine the time of entering spring with the average temperature as the standard.
