Is allergy and chronic urticaria the same thing?
Urticaria is mostly caused by allergic reasons, especially chronic urticaria, and the reasons are complicated. The common causes of allergies are drugs, food, breathing, toxins, physical factors, cold and heat, wind, sun exposure, mental factors or immune diseases. These will all lead to skin allergies, manifested as urticaria. Patients with urticaria first have itchy skin, and then quickly appear red or pale white wheal, which can disappear within 24 hours without leaving traces. Urticaria can involve respiratory mucosa and digestive tract mucosa, causing corresponding clinical symptoms.
Patients with urticaria should first remove the allergic causes leading to urticaria. They can take antihistamines orally or in combination. Different types of urticaria use different antihistamines. For infectious urticaria, oral antibiotics can be used. If the patient is accompanied by clinical symptoms of respiratory tract, digestive tract and cardiovascular system, he should go to the hospital in time, be examined in detail by an emergency doctor or dermatologist, and be given correct treatment.
