There are customs such as eating sheep, eating fresh food, fasting, eating noodles, licking cows in summer, eating lotus root, eating jiaozi, lotus root, eel, mango, noodles and mutton.

1. Fasting is a fast day for Miao people in western Hunan from the day before light summer to the day in light Xia Hou. During this period, chickens, ducks, fish, turtles, crabs and other things are fasting. It is said that eating by mistake will bring disaster, but pigs, beef and mutton can still be eaten.

2. Eating sheep in summer is a traditional custom in southern Shandong and northern Jiangsu in summer. After summer, just after the third summer, and before the autumn harvest, farmers who have been busy for half a year will eat summer sheep in groups of three or five households and seven or eight households.
