Grain Rain in the Spring Festival
"Grain Rain" is the sixth of the 24 solar terms. It is also the last solar term in spring, from April 20th to April 2nd1every year.
The name "Grain Rain" comes from a folklore. During the period of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, when Cang Xie, an official, created and wrote Chinese characters, countless Gu Mi rained down from the sky. Therefore, the emperor named this day "Grain Rain".
Climatic characteristics
This solar term has come, and the increase of rainfall is much more than that of "rain", which is very important for crop growth. In most basin areas, the temperature rises rapidly. The temperature in most river basins in China, including the northwest, reaches 20-22 degrees Celsius.
