Yuan Hao asked who was the "king" in "The cuckoo crows"?
Yuan Haowen's poem Wang Chunxin's cuckoo crow quoted Li Shangyin's allusions. This allusion originated from the legend of "Looking at the cuckoo" and expressed the poet's nostalgia for the good old days and his expectation for the future. Li Shangyin (about 8 13- about 858), a native of Yuxi, was born in Fan Nansheng. He and Du Mu are called "Little Du Li", and Hewen is called "Wen Li". Originally from Hanoi, Huaizhou (now Qinyang City, Henan Province), he moved to Xingyang (now Zhengzhou City, Henan Province) with his ancestors in the late Tang Dynasty. Li Shangyin is one of the most outstanding poets in the late Tang Dynasty. His poems are ingenious in conception, expressing deep feelings with implicit symbolism, exquisite rhetoric, euphemistic and harmonious rhyme and subtle twists and turns.
