At present, algae plants contribute more than 90% to oxygen. The net oxygen output of a mature forest is basically zero. Forests release oxygen during the day and consume oxygen at night. This is a process of carbon cycle. Carbon in the atmosphere is converted into organic compounds through photosynthesis and stored in the forest in the form of wood. When a forest grows to a certain extent, its wood reserves will no longer increase, which means that the net output of oxygen is basically zero.
Growing forests have the strongest carbon sequestration capacity because a lot of carbon in the air is converted into wood. That is to say, if the wood is harvested and utilized reasonably (if the wood does not rot, it will not be released into the atmosphere and quit the carbon cycle), the carbon sequestration capacity of the forest can be improved.
