Why does the first frost eat persimmons?
It is said that eating persimmons in frost at first is actually related to Zhu Yuanzhang. It is said that when he was young, his family was very poor, and he often ate every meal. One year in the first month, Zhu Yuanzhang was hungry for two days and suddenly saw a persimmon tree in a small village, which was covered with red persimmons. Zhu Yuanzhang ate a persimmon meal and didn't survive until he was full. Later, Zhu Yuanzhang became emperor. One year, Chu Shuang led the troops to pass by the small village again and found that the persimmon tree was still there. He named it "Shuang Ling Hou" to show his gratitude. After this story spread among the people, it gradually formed the custom of eating persimmons in the first frost.
The first cream is particular about eating persimmons.
Persimmons are generally not ripe when bought home. They taste astringent and need to be ripened. There are many ways to ripen persimmons, such as putting them together with other mature fruits. The gases released by mature fruits can promote the astringency of persimmons. In rural areas, it is generally soaked in lime water, so that the astringent fruit obtained is brittle.
