Hydrological function of wetland

Wetland eco-hydrological process and its external manifestations, namely wetland eco-hydrological function, are the core content of wetland function and the basis for realizing other functions. Wetlands play an extremely important eco-hydrological function in maintaining water security and ecological security in river basins, mainly in the following aspects:

1) provides water storage space for flood storage;

2) Replenish groundwater and keep the groundwater level;

2) Degradation of pollution and purification of water quality;

4) Fixing carbon dioxide and regulating regional climate;

5) Provide habitats for rare birds and protect biodiversity.
