Before adjusting the valve, make sure that the piston is at the top dead center position. For a new car, refer to the T line, open the cylinder head cover, turn the magneto counterclockwise, and mark the observation well with "T". At this time, make sure that there is an axial gap between the intake valve and the exhaust valve (adjust the coaxial direction of the bolt) to determine the correct position. For classic cars, you must press the starting lever and observe with your eyes to gain experience. Because the valve clearance can only be adjusted when the rocker arm reaches the top dead center, the spring automatically locks the valve in other positions, that is, if the valve clearance is released when it is not at the top dead center, the spring will automatically press the valve clearance.

The feeler gauge is a theoretical data. Select a feeler gauge with a specified thickness, insert it into the valve gap and pull it back and forth. If you feel a little resistance, the gap is appropriate. If there is no resistance, it means that adjustment is needed. First find a small wrench to turn the adjusting screw, while pulling the feeler gauge to feel the resistance state, and then tighten the adjusting nut after the clearance is appropriate. However, it is inconvenient to use the feeler gauge in actual operation, that is, loosen the nut, screw on the screw, and then plug the feeler gauge. The loose screw may have been moved by mistake, so the master can hardly see the feeler in the garage.

After the nut is loose, screw the screw by hand and feel resistance. You don't have to screw it to the end or go backwards. At this time, the clearance is almost the best, and then tighten the nut.
