When will the bees come out?

Every year from April to June. Bees can collect honey all year round, but the varieties of nectar plants will be different in different seasons. For example, the nectar plants in spring mainly include rape, Chinese milk vetch, black locust and citrus trees. The honey plants in summer are jujube, Vitex negundo, Tilia amurensis and Sapium sebiferum. The honey plants in autumn are sunflower, sesame, cotton, buckwheat and so on. In winter, honey plants include wild seeds, loquat, wild osmanthus, duck feet and so on.

Spring is the best season for bees to collect honey. At this time, the main nectar plants are rape, litchi, citrus, Chinese milk vetch, longan, locust and so on. In fact, the honey production in spring is the highest in the whole year, especially rape nectar can even reach half of the total honey production in the whole year.

Summer is the hottest season in most areas. At this time, the main nectar source plants are vetch, jujube, alfalfa, Vitex negundo, tallow and so on. However, honey collection by bees in some areas will also be affected by high temperature. For example, in some hot areas, bees often spend their summer in semi-dormancy.

Autumn is the second season suitable for bees to collect honey. At this time, the main nectar plants are sunflower, sesame, cotton, buckwheat and Lespedeza. The honey source and temperature in this season are more suitable for bees to collect honey. In fact, autumn is the second peak of honey production besides spring.

Winter is the coldest season in most areas. At this time, the main honey source plants are wild bazi, loquat, wild osmanthus, duck feet and so on. But in this season, bees in most areas have gathered in beehives for the winter, while a few warm areas in the south still have Chinese bees with strong cold tolerance to collect honey.
