Pruning time and method of Chinese rose Cultivation method of Chinese rose
The first pruning is before the spring rose sprouts, and the second pruning is after the spring flowering. If you are going to enjoy flowers on National Day, you should prune for the third time within 1-2 weeks after beginning of autumn, and prune for the fourth time around beginning of winter.
Light pruning, also known as thinning, cuts off the weak branches of roses, keeps the thick outward fingers of roses, and prunes them at one third of the fingers. This pruning is suitable for the production and reproduction of Chinese rose. Pruning should avoid rainy days as much as possible to avoid the wound being infected by pathogenic bacteria and fungi, resulting in black stems and rotten stems. When black stems and rotten stems appear, use clean and sharp scissors to cut off the green and healthy parts, and then spray them on the incision with ethylicin and zineb to solve the problem.
