Function of throttle position sensor

The main function of the throttle position sensor is to detect whether the engine is idling or loading, accelerating or decelerating. The rotating shaft of the resistor is connected with the throttle valve, and it has two contacts: a fully open contact and an idle contact. When the throttle valve is in the idle position, the idle contact is closed and the idle working condition signal is output to the computer; When the throttle valve is in other positions, the idle contact is opened, and voltage signals with different angles relative to the throttle valve are output, and the computer identifies the engine load according to the signal voltage value; According to the change rate of signal voltage in a certain period of time, whether it is an acceleration state or a deceleration state is identified. According to these working conditions, the computer corrects the fuel injection quantity or controls the fuel cut-off.

Throttle position sensors are generally divided into linear output throttle position sensors and dry output throttle position sensors.

Linear: generally used for large vehicles (the body of large vehicles is more stable than long linear transmission information).

Drying: generally used for small cars (short and dry body of small cars can meet data transmission)

Adjustment method of throttle position sensor:

① Loosen the two fixing screws of the throttle position sensor;

(2) Insert a thickness gauge with a specified thickness (for example, 0.35mm) between the throttle limit screw and the limit lever, and measure the continuity of IDL and E terminals when the empty contact is on with a multimeter ohm gear;

③ Turn the throttle position sensor counterclockwise to disconnect the idle contact, and slowly turn the throttle position sensor clockwise after combustion until the idle contact is closed;

④ Tighten the two fixing screws of the throttle position sensor.

⑤ Insert thickness gauges (such as thickness gauges of 0.30 mm and 0.40 mm) 0.05 mm smaller and 0.05 mm larger than the specified thickness between the throttle limit screw and the limit lever respectively, and measure the conduction of the empty contact. When the equivalent gauge thickness is 0.30mm, the empty contact should be connected, and when the equivalent gauge thickness is 0.40mm, the empty contact should be disconnected. Otherwise, the throttle position sensor should be readjusted or replaced.
