Throttle pressure sensor
In order to understand the fault phenomenon of the throttle position sensor, let's first look at the function of the throttle position sensor.
Function of throttle position sensor
The function of the throttle position sensor is very simple. It is the key testing equipment of the engine and has two functions. The first is to control the fuel injection quantity of the car. The engine will have four working conditions in use, which indicates the normal operation of the engine and is the greatest guarantee to control the owner to have a good starting speed when stepping on the accelerator.
The second function is to detect the operation of the engine. The throttle position sensor has two contacts, which are used to judge the working state of the car and under what conditions, which can ensure the normal use.
The above is the function of the throttle position sensor. Maybe car owners don't know much about this equipment in their daily driving, but I hope that the majority of car owners should pay considerable attention to the throttle position sensor when maintaining their cars. The following is the situation when the throttle position sensor fails, so that you can find the problem in time and avoid hidden dangers to driving safety.
Fault phenomenon of throttle position sensor
When the throttle position sensor fails, it will cause:
1. Engine idling is abnormal, idling is too high or too low, idling is unstable, and idling is easy to stall;
2. The acceleration of the engine is abnormal, the engine shakes during acceleration, and the acceleration response is slow;
3. The engine appears intermittent jitter during operation.
So, what is the cause of the failure of the throttle position sensor?
1. The connector is rusted, poor in contact, low in voltage or non-conductive, which makes the engine easy to stall or difficult to start.
2. The initial position is not aligned, and the output voltage is high or low, resulting in unstable idle speed, high or low. When the initial voltage is too high, IDL is turned off, which makes IAC stop working, resulting in unstable idle speed. If there is no IDL in the starting acceleration, the OFF signal is output, which loses the ability of "asynchronous injection" and makes the starting acceleration performance of the vehicle worse. On the contrary, when the initial voltage is too low, IDL will continue to conduct for too long, and the fuel cut-off function will lead to driving.
3. The coating is invalid, and the change of resistance leads to inaccurate output voltage and poor acceleration of the vehicle when starting.
4. Too much carbon deposit on the throttle valve and improper closing affect the output voltage and flow rate, resulting in inaccurate air-fuel ratio and unstable idle speed.
That's enough about the fault phenomenon of the throttle position sensor. At the same time, the causes of the fault of the throttle position sensor are also introduced. I hope everyone will pay more attention when driving and develop good driving habits.
