Passat B5 engine data

Passat B5' s basic GLS is equipped with 1.8 liter engine. Soon, Volkswagen introduced GLX and GLS V6 models that matched the V6 30 valve engine. B5 adopts the same platform technology as Audi A4 and Audi A6, and even the engine is the same as the 1.8T I4 and V6 30V models used by Audi * *. 1.8 liter turbocharged engine is matched with a 5-speed gearbox, which has strong power and can produce 190-200 horsepower at most. The front suspension adopts multi-link mode and the rear suspension adopts torsion beam, which effectively reduces torsional steering. B5 standard configuration includes driver and co-pilot airbags, side airbags, ABS, electronic differential system, power windows, power rearview mirrors, FM/AM cassette player, 8 speakers and CFC air conditioner. Electric sunroof, electrically heated seat and 5-speed Tiptronic transmission are optional. GLX and GLS V6 models matching V6 30 valve engine adopt Volkswagen's unique 4MOTION four-wheel drive technology.

Shanghai Volkswagen provided three kinds of power for Passat, 1.8T and 2.0L engines, with maximum power of1/0kw/5700rpm and 85kw/5400rpm, and maximum torque of 2 10n.m and172n, respectively. It is worth mentioning that the turbocharged engine of 1.8T has five valves per cylinder, and it is a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic manual transmission with the same core and matched with the engine, which can transfer the power of the engine to the wheels smoothly. The 0- 100km/h acceleration time of 1.8T is 12 seconds, and the 2.0-displacement engine is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission, and the 0- 100km/h acceleration time is 12.8 seconds.

The performance of 1.8T engine is good, but the ignition coil of the model equipped with 1.8T engine produced in the early stage is easy to be damaged, and then Shanghai Volkswagen made improvements. And compared with the 2.0L engine, the maintenance cost is much higher. Another 2.8L V6 30 valve engine is configured for the highest level Passat. Maximum power 140kw/6000rpm and maximum torque 260n.m/3200rpm. The direct benefit of high torque is fast speed. The acceleration time of 2.8L Passat 0- 100km is 10.8 second.
