Garlic harvest time
Garlic can be sown in spring and autumn, and the specific time is about March in spring and-10 in autumn. The harvest time of garlic is generally between the middle and late May and June every year. Under normal circumstances, garlic can be harvested about 20-25 days after the young garlic shoots are harvested, and the bottom leaves of mature garlic will turn yellow and the garlic skin will become thin.
Garlic producing area
The main garlic producing areas in China are Yongnian and daming county in Hebei Province, Pizhou, Sheyang and Taicang in Jiangsu Province, Qixian and zhongmou county in Henan Province, Jinxiang, Shanghe, Cangshan, Guangrao, Chiping and Chengwu in Shandong Province, Bozhou and Lai 'an in Anhui Province, Wenjiang and Pengzhou in Sichuan Province, Dali and Xinjiang in Yunnan Province.
Southern areas such as Zhejiang and Jiangsu are suitable for autumn sowing, and the harvest period is from May to early June of the following year. Jinan is suitable for planting in mid-February and harvesting in early June.
Generally, Shenyang is planted in the middle and late March and harvested in the middle of July, while Qinghai is suitable for planting in the middle and early April and harvesting in the middle of September.
Time and key points of garlic planting
1, planting time
Garlic likes to grow in cold climate, and the optimum growth temperature is about 12- 16 degrees. The temperature conditions in different regions are different, so the planting time is different. For the southern region, it is best to sow in September 9- 10/0 in autumn, and it is best to sow in February-April in the northern low temperature region.
2. Land
Choose a place with loose and fertile soil, good drainage performance and flat terrain for planting. Before planting, plough the soil to a depth of about 30-40 cm, and then make a frame with a width of about 3 meters.
Step 3: sow.
Screening garlic cloves, removing moldy garlic cloves with wormholes, and sowing according to the plant spacing of 8- 12cm, row spacing of 16- 18cm, and sowing depth of 3-4cm. Generally, about 40,000 plants are sown per mu.
