What is cold dew wind?

Cold dew wind is a low-temperature chilling injury that causes significant cooling and rice yield reduction after the invasion of cold air in autumn. In southern China, it often occurs in the "cold dew" solar term, hence the name "cold dew wind" (also known as "social wind").

Before and after the cold dew solar term (65438+1early October), it is the heading and flowering period of late rice. If the daily average temperature is lower than 22℃ for three or more consecutive days, it will cause empty shells and shriveled grains of late rice, resulting in reduced production. However, the cold air in the north continues to go south, which often brings obvious cooling, strong winds and rainy weather, which affects the normal heading and flowering of double-cropping late rice and late rice in the south.

The regional cold dew wind grade standard in Cold Dew Wind Grade (Wang Baosheng et al. 2007) is divided according to the proportion of stations with cold dew wind in the region.

2. Moderate cold dew wind

The number of mild or severe cold dew wind stations in the area accounts for more than 50% of the total number of stations in the area, and the number of severe cold dew wind stations accounts for more than 10% of the total number of stations in the area.

3. Severe cold dew wind

The number of stations with severe cold dew wind in the region has reached more than 35% of the total number of regional stations; Or the number of stations with mild or severe cold dew wind reaches more than 60% of the total number of regional stations, and the number of stations meeting the standard of severe cold dew wind accounts for more than 20% of the total number of regional stations.
