System characteristics

Compared with other active safety systems such as ABS, VSC system has three characteristics:

(1) Real-time monitoring: VSC system can monitor the driver's control actions (steering, braking, throttle, etc. ), road information and vehicle movement status, and constantly send instructions to the engine and braking system.

(2) Active intervention: ABS and other safety technologies mainly interfere with the driver's actions, but cannot adjust the engine. VSC system can adjust the engine speed and the driving force and braking force of each wheel by actively adjusting the engine throttle to correct the oversteer and understeer of the car.

(3) Remind in advance: When the driver operates improperly or the road surface is abnormal, the VSC system will remind the driver with a warning light.

The goal of VSC system is to prevent wheel slip and keep the vehicle stable. The driving state of the vehicle is determined by vectors in three directions. VSC compares the actual vehicle state information, such as vehicle speed sensor and steering wheel angle, with the nominal normal vehicle state information to obtain deviation information, and then ECU issues corresponding instructions to drive the actuator to perform corresponding operations, and then determines the deviation again, and the actuator performs corresponding operations again. This closed-loop control makes the dynamic handling performance of the vehicle reach the limit state under road environment conditions.
