Are all Chinese salt sea salt?

The salt produced in Zigong, the salt capital of China, is not sea salt.

Zigong, Sichuan is rich in well salt and has a long history, and is known as the "Millennium Salt Capital". This kind of salt has a mining history of more than 2,000 years, and is the largest well salt producing area in China, which can supply edible salt for the whole country19 population.

Zigong was founded in 1939, and its name was taken from the initials of two local salt wells, artesian well and tribute well. At the same time, Zigong is promoting salt production to deep processing, salt chemical industry to fine chemical industry, building a high-end daily necessities production base of Zhongyan, and building an edible salt "Zhongyan Valley".

Zigong Salt took the lead in producing well salt in China during the period of salt production by evaporation, which lasted 1900 years. Zigong salt is white and pure, and it has been a leader in well salt since the Tang and Song Dynasties. After entering the 20th century, it has been among the best in the national and Sichuan salt industry appraisal for many times.

In the past, Zigong salt varieties were mainly divided into flower salt and ba salt. If it is divided by the fuel of frying salt, it can be divided into spark salt, fire salt, carbon salt and carbon salt. Zigong Salt Field used to have a kind of salt that pressed flower salt into bricks, called brick salt. Small salt is about half a catty, and large salt 10 catty is sold in remote mountainous areas.

Among the Ba salt in Zigong, the colors are black Ba, white Ba and grass white Ba. Barium salt can be divided into thick barium and thin barium according to its thickness. The sodium chloride content of Ba salt is lower than that of Hua salt, which is generally between 86% and 91%.
