Where does crucian carp throw seeds at night?

Carassius auratus likes to lay eggs in running water plants, and the eggs will stick to the water plants. When you hear a "crash" sound, it's usually the fish throwing seeds. Carassius auratus lays eggs from March to July, and April is the peak of reproduction. Because of the great climate difference between north and south, they lay eggs at different times. For example, the spawning season in southern China is February-March, April-May in the Yangtze River valley, May-June in the Yellow River valley and June-July in the northeast, and the spawning season can last for about 2 months.

The breeding season of crucian carp is spring. In the south of China, generally after mid-March, when the water temperature rises to about 17℃, crucian carp will start to lay eggs, and when the water temperature rises to 20-24℃, its reproductive activity is the most vigorous. Crucian carp is an omnivorous fish. Adult crucian carp mainly eat plant food, and sometimes they also eat vascular plants, diatoms, shrimps, earthworms and so on. Crucian carp has strong adaptability, and can survive in deep water, shallow water, running water and still water, even in strongly alkaline waters with pH value of 9 or Dali Lake with salinity as high as 4.5%.
