What season does July filariasis refer to?
The so-called "filariasis" is explained on page 952 of the concentrated edition of Ci Hai: "Fire, the name of the star, is the heart. Every year in the summer calendar, the heart stays in the sky at dusk in May, and it gradually goes west after June. The heat in summer began to decline. " In addition, Confucius said: "Those who travel westward in July are also the stars of fire, and they know that the cold is getting colder." It can be seen that "July fire" is related to solar terms and climate, but it is by no means a word to describe the heat. Therefore, Yu Guanying's selected translation of The Book of Songs is more concise: "After dusk in autumn, the great Mars sets in the west, which is called' filariasis'".
