1. Wash chestnuts and dry them.
2. Use a chestnut can opener or cut chestnuts with a knife.
Because chestnuts are hard and round, be careful when cutting with a knife. It is recommended to use a chestnut bottle opener. You can make a hole in the chestnut with a little force, and there is no risk of hurting your fingers.
3. Put the chestnuts in the baking tray and pour in a little cooking oil, so that the surface of each chestnut is covered with oil.
4. Preheat the oven for 5 minutes, then put it in a baking tray and bake at 180℃ for 5 minutes. Chestnut's cross is up, so it will open.
5. In a few minutes of baking, prepare sugar water.
Mix honey, sugar and water according to the ratio of 1: 1: 1, and stir with chopsticks to dissolve the sugar.
6. After baking for 5 minutes, take out the baking tray. By this time, the chestnuts had already opened. Pour the prepared syrup into the baking tray, stir it, and dip the syrup into the opening of chestnuts with a brush, so that the exposed pulp can touch the syrup as much as possible, which is more delicious.
7. Put the baking tray in the oven again and bake at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes. However, due to the different power and brand of each oven, the time will be different, and this time is only about time.
Using an air fryer is the same operation and time. But if you use an air fryer, the frying basket should be padded with tin foil, so that the sugar water can't leak into the inner container below.
8. The temperature of freshly baked sugar-fried chestnuts is too high to eat immediately. You can start when it is warm, and it tastes better when it is hot.
