Dragon Boat Festival:
Dragon Boat Festival is the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, also known as Duanyang Festival, Noon Festival, May Festival, May Festival, Ai Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Noon Festival, Noon Festival and Summer Festival. It was originally a festival to drive away the plague in summer.
At the end of the Warring States period, Qu Yuan, the son of Xiong Tong, a Chu man, was a descendant of Qu Xian. Although Qu Yuan was loyal to Chu Huaiwang, he was repeatedly rejected. After the death of King Huai, Xiang Wang was exiled because he listened to slanderers, and finally died in the Miluo River. In memory of this great poet.
According to legend, after Qu Yuan threw himself into the Miluo River, the local people immediately rowed for rescue, and all the way to Dongting Lake, but Qu Yuan's body was never seen. It was raining at that time, and the boats on the lake gathered at the pavilion on the shore. When people learned that it was to salvage the sage Dr. Qu, they went out in the rain and rushed into the vast Dongting Lake. In order to mourn, people rowed on the river, and later it gradually developed into a dragon boat race. People were afraid that fish in the river would eat his body, so they went home and threw rice balls into the river to prevent fish and shrimp from ruining Qu Yuan's body. Later, eating zongzi became a custom.
Cold food festival:
Legend has it that during Jin Wengong's exile, Jiezitui cut down his shares to satisfy his hunger. When Jin Wengong returned to China as a monarch, he forgot to push mesons when he was enfeoffment minister. Jiezitui didn't want to boast about his achievements and compete for favor, so he took his mother to live in seclusion in Mianshan. Later, Jin Wengong personally went to Mianshan to find Jiezitui, who didn't want to be an official and hid in the mountains. People in Jin Wengong set fire to the mountain and drove it out. As a result, meson pushed his mother and was burned to death under a big tree. In order to commemorate this loyal minister and righteous man, on the day when he retired, he did not cook with a fire and ate cold food, which was called Cold Food Festival.
The Cold Food Festival is one of the traditional festivals in China, which is held every year after the winter solstice (one of the 24 solar terms) 105 days. Generally, one or two days before Tomb-Sweeping Day, it is also called "No-smoking Festival", "Cold Food Festival" and "Hundred Days". Because the cold food festival forbids fire, it is not allowed to make a fire to cook, so you can only eat prepared cooked food and cold food, hence the name. The Cold Food Festival has the folk customs of going to the grave, having an outing, fighting cocks, swinging, playing with carpets and pulling a hook (tug of war).
