How to clean the engine compartment

Engine compartment generally includes engine, air filter, storage battery, engine exhaust system, throttle, water tank filling box, relay box, brake booster pump, throttle cable, window glass cleaning liquid storage tank, brake fluid storage tank, fuse, etc.

Inspection method:

Liquid and storage tank

First, check whether the water tank replenishment fluid, cleaning fluid, power steering fluid, lubricating oil and brake fluid are normal. If it is not normal, it should be suspected that there is electricity leakage. The appearance of the liquid tank should be clean, free of water stains and oil stains, and the liquid level can be considered normal between the highest and lowest scales, about 3/5 and 4/5, which is basically normal.

Check the water tank (check it when cooling because of the high temperature). Open the engine cover and check the water tank first. But the premise of inspection is the cold state of the car, otherwise it is easy to be scalded by spilled water. After opening the water tank cover, pay attention to observe whether there are other foreign bodies floating on the cooling water surface, such as rusty powder crumbs and unknown oil stains. If the oil is found floating, it means that the oil may seep into the cooling water; If the floating foreign body is found to be rust powder, it means that the corrosion in the water tank is very serious. Once the above situation is found, it shows that the engine condition of the car is not very good and needs special attention.

gearbox

Check the gearbox for oil leakage. If the gearbox leaks oil seriously, pay special attention at this time.

dipstick

When watching, turn off the engine after three minutes, pull out the dipstick and wipe it with a paper towel to eliminate the oil black. Prepare a white cloth or napkin before checking the dipstick. After finding the position of the dipstick, pull the dipstick up first, wipe the dipstick with the prepared white cloth or napkin, and then check the color of the oil remaining on the cloth or paper. If it is dark brown, it means that the oil should have been changed long ago, and the owner's maintenance habits were poor before; If it is sticky, it also means that the maintenance is not good and the oil is rarely changed; If it contains moisture, it may be serious. This kind of engine draft will make water and engine oil mix, showing milky white, which is very harmful to the engine.

In general, the dipstick is marked with high and low oil levels. If it is between these two oil levels, it is normal. Therefore, consumers can pull the wiped dipstick out of the oil tank and check the oil level on the dipstick. If the oil level is too low, it means that the car may leak oil and the car is in poor condition.

filter

Open the lid of the air cleaner and see how clean it is. If there is a lot of dust and the filter is dirty, it means that the utilization rate of the car is high.

Electric storage battery

Generally, the service life of a battery is about two years, so consumers can pay attention to the production date on the battery first when checking the battery. If it is more than two years, this battery will be scrapped.

The connection between the battery fixing pile head and the electric wire should be reliable and good, and there is no looseness by manual pull. Whether the joint is corroded and whether the small window is green. It depends on the connection of each line, whether it is shaking, etc.

Engine room

The inspection of the engine compartment is very important, so it must be inspected very carefully. Not only should we carefully check the tightness between fenders, whether there are traces of paint or scratches on the edges, but also check whether there is oil leakage inside the engine compartment and whether the terminals are loose. These are the most important things to pay attention to when testing new cars.
